
On May 3, 1999, his mother passed away from a heroin overdose at the age of 27. He attended kindergarten in Griffith, IN, before he and his grandparents moved to South Dakota in 1997–98. Both of his parents struggled with drug addiction, and Pfeiffer was raised by his grandparents, Tony and Sheila Pfeiffer.

Kyle Pfeiffer was born on Jin Munster, IN to mother Tina Pfeiffer, and father George Balac. The album featured the Top 40 rock single "Gotta Get Outta Here", and the album hit the Top 100 on the US iTunes Rock charts. On December 31, 2021, Blacklite District released his latest album, 1990. Combined, he has gotten over 500 million streams globally across YouTube and Spotify, and was awarded YouTube's Sliver Creator Award in November 2019 for passing 100,000 subscribers on his channel.

He followed it up with a string of other viral hits, including "The Struggle", "Just So You Know", and "Goodbye".
